I Get Emotional At Night

It’s always been my thinking that everyone gets more emotional at night. I know it’s true for me at least. Tonight was one of those nights where I was listening to a new Kutless song (to me anyway) that Kari and I heard, oddly enough, last night on Scrubs. Listening to the words you realized it was somehow out of context for the scene, and then you realize it’s a praise song. All of the Words, that’s the title, and I went to download it immediately. As I sat and listened to it tonight, browsing some sites I used to check daily several months ago, I realized how much I miss ministry. I don’t plan on getting back into it soon, maybe never actually (at least not paid staff at a church – I have too many trust issues now with church people), but I do miss it. I miss seeing people being changed right in front of me. I miss daily study and coffee.

I guess it’s hard coping with having all that stripped away without warning. I don’t think much about it honestly (though when I do it’s mostly comtempt and disgust I’ll admit), and tonight was the first time I really truly missed "it". I’ve missed the students, I’ve missed my habits that are long gone, but I hadn’t actually missed the job until tonight.

Everything in life pretty much comes in waves, no? Happiness, sadness, contentedness. So tomorrow I’ll be fine, and come Friday when I get paid I’ll be even better, and the next payday better still (money doesn’t buy happiness, but not having to worry about money relieves a whole lot of stress). And when I go to church on Sunday and am able to worship God wholly and not sit around for 40 minutes while old people talk about this and that instead of actually having a worship experience… I’ll be reminded that God’s still my rock.

See, I’m back to not missing it already.

Nothing New Really

So yeah, it’s just like it reads. There’s not really anything new. I did find a cool new piece of software I’m playing with that may turn into something cool, and I have a few internet ideas I may talk to Matthew about in the future seeing as how we both have domain names and a small desire to make all the money out there on the internet. Here’s a hint: It involves creating an internet community and selling stuff (like Google ads and co-branded items). Enough said.

Peace!

Long Time No Post

I’ve been busy. It’s good to take a little break and post a little somethin-somethin for all you playas out there.

First off, I gotta give out shout out to Matthew: Don’t let the ‘Ankle’ get you down!

Secondly, I’d like to say hey to all the people that check this every day even when there’s nothing new to read. You make the world go ’round.

Now for some randomness:
Woot
In2TV
Engadget
Cool new Google product that I currently have no use for but might in the semi-near future

There are a lot of T-Shirt websites out there. I only know of like 2 funny ones so if you know of any post a comment with the URL. Also, maybe we can all go into business together at CafePress. If you have some good ideas for some items post it up and we’ll see where it goes (you also have to have some cash).

A lots been happening lately, here’s a list:

  • New job is the bomb.
  • Northview is the best church I have ever been to.
  • Gracie is the funniest child I’ve ever met.
  • Money doesn’t make you happy, but having enough to pay the bills sure takes away a lot of worry.
  • It’s almost Spring which means I’m going to have to mow and I hate mowing.
  • Jr. needs to stop being a priss and just start running.
  • Tivo is the best invention since the NES.
  • My new phone is the coolest gadget I’ve ever owned.
  • I’m tired a lot.
  • I’ve cut down on my coffee intake (which might explain the aforementioned tiredness).
  • My sister is a lot of fun to hang-out with now that we’re both older and don’t live very close together. That and she’s not a tard anymore.
  • Kari is the a better wife than I could have ever hoped for.

"See ya next time"
