There’s a New Radio Station in Town…

…which means it's time for me to piss some people off.

If you live in OKC and enjoy Christian music you've no doubt listened to (and if you're like me, made a whole lot of fun of) KOKF 91FM. This High School-Quality radio station played good music 1/4 of the time they weren't talking. Ok, that may be a little harsh. Or is it? To be fair, I had friends that worked there and know people who absolutely loved that radio station, and because of THAT I'm sad to see it go. But I will not miss a) the pointless, non-stop talking (IT'S A RADIO STATION, PLAY SOME MUSIC!), b) the horrible choice of 10 year old music when there's plenty of high-quality new music out there, c) Don't Dance With the Devil, d) the guys from the rap show, e) etc…

Here's what's funny, when the decison to sell 91 to Air1 was announced, some people immediately started talking about how much Air1 sucked. Why is that funny? Because Air1 has never been in or around OKC! The only way to listen up till now has been via their website (and something tells me the people talking hadn't checked it out). "Air1 sounds just like K-Love, no one'll like it". Well… ok. I'll make it easy for you all to judge for yourselves. Turn to 90.9 (if in OKC – all others here). And after listening for a while, turn to 88.9 (or here). Now tell me, do those sound anything alike?

Bottom line: There's finally a Christian station in OKC that plays good, current music. Enjoy!

Dang!!

So the other day I made a really great post and was wondering why I hadn't received any comments on it… well it turns out our server had a hard drive crash and the back-up they restored was made before my post. BOOOO!!!

I'm not going to try and recreate it, so you'll just have to imagine how amazing it was, ok?

Tomorrow (Mon) I start a 2 week shift as a Training Assistant. I'm very excited 1) I get to teach others and get off the phones for 2 weeks and 2) no one's gone to be a TA as quickly as this before! It should be fun, and it's the first step to bigger and better things.

I've decided to build a MediaPC. I haven't told Kari yet so hopefully she goes along with it. It shouldn't cost too much and will make the bedroom TV much better.  I've also decided to sell the Xbox and all it's stuff (games, remotes, controllers, dance pads, etc…). If you want it, it's $250 (if you went to Gamestop it would cost ya over $425).

I had some reviews on some software on the other posts, but I'm too tired to rewrite them so here's a quickie:

  • Orb – Let's me watch any video or photo or listen to any song on my PC from anywhere I can get an internet connection.
  • Mozy – Talked about it before, but it's so great thought I'd mention this free back-up service again.
  • PocketCaster – This software let me broadcast live video from my phone to Matthew in iRaq, pretty cool stuff.

Peace.
